IKALA HOTEL
The new hotel Ikala was built with a goal of sustainability and environmental protection. In a fresh and natural atmosphere, the hotel is sheltered from the strong rays of the Galapagos sun, surrounded by beautiful trees and gardens. The hot water of the showers is completely heated by solar energy as well as garden lighting powered by photovoltaic panels.
The hotel offers a charming swimming pool, bar and a magnificent roof terrace of the main building where the restaurant and a relaxation area are located. The terrace invites you to enjoy a superb view of Puerto Ayora harbor.
Location of the hotel
Hotel Ikala is located in the small town of Puerto Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz. The hotel is conveniently located one block from the harbor wharf and the main streets of Puerto Ayora (Avenida Baltra and Avenida Charles Darwin) where you will find shops, restaurants, bars and other establishments.
A ten minute walk east on Charles Darwin Avenue, you will reach the famous Charles Darwin station and the Galapagos M. Cifuentes Visitor Center. Here you can observe the balmy body of George the lonely, the famous giant tortoise Galapagos. Also, you will easily find the lagoon "Las Ninfas", a peaceful, beautiful and natural place.

The restaurant and bar area was created by our talented architects to provide a luxurious experience. This comfortable space can accommodate up to 60 people.
Every morning from 7:00 to 10:00, our visitors can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast with the magnificent view of the Port. This beginning of the day will allow you to be ready and full of energy necessary for the exploration of the islands.µ
In the evening, our local chefs can treat you to delicious and healthy dishes inspired by international and local cuisine. Only fresh ingredients from Galapagos farms are used. In this way we offer you the best dishes by contributing with the sustainability of the Galapagos and generating local employment. Meat in Galapagos is considered one of the best qualities of meat in South America. This is mainly due to the purity of the environment or the cattle are high. Coffee, cocoa, bananas, vegetables, fruits among others are produced in the central region of Santa Cruz Island which is free of pollutants.
