Back to the hotel, the soft murmuring of the river provides tranquillity whilst your hosts are seeing to all the details. The hacienda supplies the fresh and organic products that the Chef prepares with sophistication, finding his inspiration in traditional Mapuche recipes.

Awaken all the senses
HIKE, BIKE & HORSE RIDE
Birding, biking, hiking and horse riding – Pucon is made for outdoor-lovers. Among the several nearby National Parks is Villarrica National Park, founded in 1912 and known for its majestic Monkey Puzzle trees (araucarias). Enjoying the pristine flora and fauna, we take guests on half-day or full-day hikes. Other highlights include mountain biking down a volcano, and riding with the former trainer of the Spanish Olympic horseriding team, Rodolfo Coombs, who has beautiful horses, and pristine land with incredible views.
PRISTING RIVERS & LAKES
One of our favourite excursions to offer guests on arrival at Vira Vira, is ‘floating’ down the Liucura River which runs past the hotel. With views of the snow-capped Villarrica Volcano and water so clear you can see the river bed, this is a great way of blowing away the cobwebs after a flight. We also have kayaking (Pucon and Villarrica are world-renowned for kayaking and white-water rafting), sailing and fishing or fly fishing. From paddling over a calm lake to racing the rapids, we have something for all levels and interests.
VOLCANOES & NATIONAL PARKS
Pucon, in Chile’s Northern Patagonia, is home to the most incredible scenery - from volcanos to lakes and Monkey Puzzle reserves, we are surrounded by natural beauty. As well as enjoying being at one with nature on the ground, we have discovered the magic of a bird’s eye view. A 4-passenger helicopter is available to guests for scenic flights (and airport transfers). We have two 60-minute sightseeing flights, one which includes a fly-over the active Villarrica Volcano and the other takes you to pristine thermal springs.
