Awaken all the senses

SALAR DE UYUNI

Legend has it that at the time when humans were giants, there was a beautiful lady named Thunupa who was married to Cuzco, a young warrior who had betrayed her with a girl named Cosuña. Surprisingly, Thunupa, very sad and indignant, fled to Kachipampa (salt pampas) and was devastated by the pain of this betrayal. And while Cuzco and Cosuña escaped, Thunupa, who had given birth shortly before, cried with tears so salty that they mingled with milk that came out of her mother's womb and flooded the place.
Seeing this, the furious gods turned humans into mountains and, this sea of milk and salty tears, into the majestic Salar de Uyuni.

Thunupa is thought to have become the volcano named after him and still cries and the milk continues to flow from his chest, while the two lovers look at him with pain.
