In true Tierra style, the lodge´s distinctive architecture is in-step with its breathtaking surroundings and comes complete with its own boat, the “Williche”, for navigating the inland waters. With only 12 guest rooms, the property continues in the footsteps of Tierra Atacama and Tierra Patagonia by offering exceptional experiences and personalized service to its guests.
The Chiloé archipelago enchants visitors with its hospitality, traditional houses on stilts, steaming fish stews cooked in the ground and the mythical figure of the Thrauco. The Spanish conquerors were awed, so too the Jesuit missionaries and the various groups of European colonists who landed there. Today, Chiloé attracts national and foreign tourists who seek to immerse themselves in the island’s magical culture, where nature and tradition have been maintained over centuries.
Chiloé displays a unique architecture, with colonial-era wooden churches in Achao, Chonchi and Quinchao that have been declared World Heritage sites by UNESCO. This building technique was taught by the Spanish Jesuits during the conquest more than four centuries ago; the houses with larch shingles and the palafitos, typical constructions on stilts above the water, are not found anywhere else in the world.
Rivers, streams, lakes, lagoons, inlets and coves, beaches and canals have always defined the life and culture of the people of Chiloé, through fishing, harvesting shellfish and navigation.

Our daily excursions are designed for you to discover the magic of the archipelago, its culture and natural landscape, from a different perspective. We have worked to find the most special places which allow you to understand and appreciate the wondrous place that is Chiloé.
We offer different types of excursions, half-day or full-day, at different levels of difficulty; multi-disciplinary outings which combine different activities in one excursion.
Our carefully planned trips have been hand-selected to provide you with a well-rounded, one-of-a-kind experience. Because our activities are planned daily, our guides are able to come up with a schedule which alternates different types of trips. Cultural excursions, boating, horseback riding, biking, hiking or simply looking around, are just a few of the possibilities awaiting you. All our trips are handled by bilingual guides working exclusively for the hotel.
With a view to making your experience even better, we limit the number of guests to eight individuals per guide, per activity, thus ensuring you receive personalized and appropriate attention along with a sound level of safety.
In addition to offering peace and tranquility through its warm and comfortable interior spaces, we offer the possibility of an unforgettable experience navigating the archipelago’s canals and fjords in a boat specially built for the hotel with superior comfort, design, quality and technology. The máximum capacity of the Williche is for 24 guests plus crew, and sailings are always subject to weather conditions.

The cuisine at Tierra Chiloé Hotel & Spa includes representative Chiloé dishes, giving you tasty insight into the culinary spirit of this island, which takes full advantage of the excellent local foodstuffs from land and sea.

To finish up your adventure we invite you to relax in our fully equipped spa which offers a complete array of services. It’s located on the second floor for your convenience, near the guest rooms. Here you will find sauna and steam room, massage room, a large and comfortable Jacuzzi for up to 8 people and deckchairs to relax in while you enjoy a pleasant view of the Pullao wetland.
